Our Objectives
History
An Idea Among Friends (Early 1984)
Mr. D. B. Akande suggested formation of a club to foster unity and community amongst Ipoti indigenes in the NYC area to Mr. Dayo Bamiteko, and Mr. Joseph Jegede.
First Meeting (July 24, 1984)
The Jegede residence hosted 18 founding members; 6 of whom were elected as the Club’s first officials.

Secretary- Mrs. Folasaye Adaramola
Asst. Secretary- Mrs. O. Ajibade
Financial Secretary- Mr. S. Akande
Treasurer- Mr. Dayo Bamiteko
Second Meeting (September 23, 1988)
Members decided on taxation of annual dues to fund the Club.
Third Meeting (November 10, 1988)
The Ipoti Ekiti Unity Club of New York, USA was adopted as the Club’s name.
Legal Incorporation (November 10, 2012)
The Ipoti Ekiti Unity Club of New York, USA was registered as a not-for-profit organization.
